What Is The Challenge?
The challenge is that you take a bit of salt and eat it and post your reaction online. After you finish the challenge, you must nominate three people to do it as well and briefly explain the challenge and the cause. This challenge was made for awareness of peaceful citizens caught in the crossfire in Ghouta, Syria. These people have been under siege for four years without a lot of necessities. The youth there feel ignored and forgotten as the media only focuses on ISIS and extremists.
Why I Did It
I did the challenge because I want to spread awareness that there are peaceful civilians and children who had their lives overturned in Ghouta five years ago. I know that these people are always in danger and I feel that the world should know what's happening in Syria and in Ghouta. We are working with a partner organization in Syria called 'Pomegranate Seeds' that helps orphans by teaching them and providing them with counselling. I did the challenge to raise awareness of these people.
Why You Should Too
Everyone loves the feeling of helping someone in need, right? Help peaceful civilians who only wanted the freedom to have their voices heard. Help them by doing this challenge and nominating a few people and help this project spread and also spread awareness that there are actually civilians in syria who are not part of ISIS and who are not extremists. The media is forgetting the real victims who are the civilians who are getting killed, including children.
Show your support for young Syrians under siege by filming yourself tasting a pinch of salt, and sharing the video online. Our aim is to raise awareness for youth living these past 4 years under siege in Eastern Ghouta.
